Why is the know-with-all of technology out of reach from the general public? Where can I achieve it?

Technology seems to improve, and improve, and improve...



How the hell does the newer stuff work? People have barely scratched the surface of computing, yet now we have alcohol-detecting ankle bracelets, RFID chips in library books (in 2010) and also IN HUMANS...



Is there not the potential for chaotic abuses of these technologies? Where are the source codes, schematics, etc???Why is the know-with-all of technology out of reach from the general public? Where can I achieve it?
yes there're abuses already but well covered up. the secret agencies are using it for covert purposes and intelligence collexion. there r thousands of such people working to improve technology and what-have-you. eg research labs / design teams are planning things 5 to 7 years ahead. they got it all lined up and will be released to capture the market. fantastic huh!
