Why do people think that only people who make $250,000 a year work hard for their money?

I think anyone who goes to work every day and supports his/her family works hard. How come some people (REPUBLICANS) think that only high income people work hard? They say that people who make high incomes work harder because they try harder, have gone to school, etc. etc. But excuse me, I am a college graduate, a member of Mensa, and worked very hard to graduate with honors. What did it get me except for a job that makes $26,0000 a year, which on the pay scale is considered ';entry level';. Just because I don't make more doesn't mean I don't work hard! I resent being called lazy. (Scroll down on this page and read the third comment-it's people like this that make me mad!http://community.myfoxdetroit.com/blogs/鈥?/a> Do you think the only people who work hard are the rich people? Why do people think that only people who make $250,000 a year work hard for their money?
It usually comes out fairly.Brains, Labor, and Talent have something to do with it. I don't have class envy, because at an early age I realized If I worked hard and saved my money I could have a 2 story home like in the movies. It's called delayed gratification. I made a plan early in life and I have stuck to it.So I really can't sit and worry about the rich, and I don't like to work that much (job wise). I saw Bill Gates on TV last night, he has a Gazillion dollars,he does a lot of good (not nickel %26amp; dime things) he just doesn't brag about it.Why do people think that only people who make $250,000 a year work hard for their money?
Working a lot does not mean doing a lot of work.

What I mean to say is first, I don't care how much money someone makes..I care about their heart. There are many opportunities out there but they are only apparent to those that seek them. To seek one must be prepared to fail and lose all. It requires courage, daring and a little luck. It requires looking at ones' interior with honesty and accepting ones' limits...true limits. We all have them but few can face the truth about themselves. One must have the ability to judge others correctly or one will fall prey to the deceitful....if not born with money it is left to only a few to become rich by their own work.
The right wing and the christians are, of course, not concerned with American ideals or fairness. They are concerned with accumulating power. The myth of 'God rewards good people' is the mantra that they want people to believe.

My old man worked like a dog. I worked like a dog. My brother died working like a dog. But 'little' people are of no concern to those people.
In my experience the higher the income the less hard work is actually done.
In order not to feel guilty, higher-paid folks have to imagine that they work harder. Lower-paid folks know it isn't true. Look at George Bush. The good life was pretty much handed to him on a silver platter, despite his personal incompetency. I am sure he feels he deserves every cent he gets. But don't get discouraged by what other people think. You have everything it takes to be successful in your own way. Through hard work.
You have to understand that it is only a small number of them that make $250k+. Most of them who think that way are either silver spoon old money elitist snobs or greedy crooked backstabbers who got where they are by being selfish.

Republican supporters are another story as most of them live in rural or small town America, have been raised with racist or misguided values and have been the victims of deceit by the Bush administration like the rest of us. The only difference is that those of us who didn't vote for Bush suspected all along that Bush %26amp; Cheney were dirty, only we had no idea just how crooked they really were. The brainwashed Republican supporters have this idea that all ';liberals'; and Democrats support letting lazy minorities stay at home and collect from government programs.

The truth is that the average income (and IQ) of the states that Gore %26amp; Kerry won in 2000 %26amp; 2004 was higher than of those who voted for Bush.

Obama - Clinton 2008
Two things.

1- It's a commonly accepted belief that the harder you work (go thou college, spend hours at work and all that) the more money you make which is untrue in most cases like yours.

2- Many great (financially speaking) had to work really hard and make sacrifices at first in order to arrive to the point where they didn't need to work as hard the general community.
Especially when it is harder for us to get the kind of education that the rich got. Without a college education, it is impossible to get anywhere.
definitely not....I have a good job making decent money....before this I worked as a waitress/bartender (for minimum wage) for 10 years...anybody who thinks this is easy has never worked in the hospitality industry....I think if you enjoy what you do and can live decently you've got it made..
A wise person once told me . . .

It's not how much or little one make's, but what they do with it

once they have it in there hands and are not on company time

anymore, a person with ten dollars can have as good a time

as someone with ten thousand dollars, if, they know the right

game in town . . .

Moviestars and athletes make astronomical sums of money

in this country of ours that cries poverty and depression, ever

wonder where the hell all the money come's from, let alone

where the f**k it all goes? glorously building new strucures

that would shame the collosieum in rome, new stadiums the

size of countries, while we're morphing into a third world

country . . .

Yet teachers who nowadays take there life in there hands

just walking into a class room, and nurses who help heal

the sick and do jobs i doubt brittney spears or paris hilton

would consider getting there hands dirty doing, along

with the rest of us mortals, yet only get about what you claim

to make, yet we're right there to blame teachers for our kids

failures, seems we forgot the fact that none of us would be

what we are without them . . .

We're a culture that glorifies work because in a sick way,

it's a form of power we can call our own, something to revel

in, something we throw each others faces, while we secretly

resent ourselves because we can't be like the rich that we

so readily condem . . .

No they don't work hard, they work smart, and have different

motives than ours, we want to control ourselves while they

just simply want control everything on the f***ing planet

including us, i might add, in which they seem to be very

sucessfull in doing these days, right under our noses i might

add while the rest of us continuiously go about our daily

bussiness of merely bitching and judgeing one another while

blinded to the fact that we're no better than those rich folks

in the eys of someone pooer than us . . .

We take pride in working ourselves to death, so it only

stands to reason we think we're entittle to put others

down who don't work for what ever the reason, and yet

we'll b***h just as quickly, at some one who doesn't work

merely because they we're smart with there money and have

obtained the easy life, which in reality though we deny it,

is what we're all after . . .

which is my guess why they invented a word called vacation,

which btw, we all scream about in the event we should be

Short . . .

change one moment of it, and yet in the next breath b***h

about imigrants, who we claim to be taking our jobs cause

there willing to do work we think is below our dignity, not to

mention, doesn't pay a kazillion dollars an hour . . .

Just survivng peoples daily rotten judgemental attitudes is the

hardest work of all, and that's one profession no one can

collect on let alone need to be a phd from harvard, to excell

in there field at . . .

Peace instead of peices, 2 the world, rich %26amp; poor, alike . . .
