Have you ever noticed that the rudest people work in customer service?

I don't understand it. I really don't. It boggles my mind as to how these type of people were hired in the first place. I work in the healthcare field. Even when I don't feel like smiling and being nice (we all have our days) I smile and I talk to my patients with respect even if they're rude to me. My philosophy is this. If you don't like your job (especially if you're working in customer service) do yourself and your customers a favor and quit!Have you ever noticed that the rudest people work in customer service?
I work in retail (in Australia) and have done so for over 6yrs and I love my job and I am a happy person HOWEVER you can not be excepted to stand there while you are being verbally abused and sometimes physically abused for stupid things that are out of your control for example prices are to high I DONT MAKE THE PRICES!!! IF YOU THINK IT IS TO EXPENIVE GO AND SHOP SOMEWHERE people need to learn that customers are not always right it wasn鈥檛 people who work on retail who made the rule it was CUSTOMERS...The amount of stupid questions I have been asked is crazy鈥ut saying that I also have awesome customers to which make my day a lot betterHave you ever noticed that the rudest people work in customer service?
It is because they are bombarded with retarded questions all day. THey should only work part time and live with thier parents, suck in thier pride.
I'M rude to customers that are rude to me. some customers are absolutely dumb. other then that i am very cheery and nice.

My guess is that these people started out nice, but gradually became rude and resentful toward clients because they're always being complained to, yelled at, whined to, etc. by the customers/patients. I imagine after a while it takes a toll on a person, so they become bitter and unhappy toward everyone--even the nice people.
customer service jobs are easy to get, just tell a company you have good customer service and they'll probably believe you. usually people who work in cust. serv. messed up their lives or are in school and this is the best job they could get. and then they have to deal with ******* who always think they're right so they go in hooting and hollering making things even worse
Yes I have and that is no place for them to be. I can be in the best mood... spreadin love and all... then I go to a store and need assistance and all hell will break loose. Customer Service is not for those who can't get along with people. Oh... and if you have no interpersonal communication skills... stay your *** at home!
