There's a girl at work who thinks she's soo high and mighty, and it's really getting on my nerves.I hate working with her, and try to ignore her as much as possible, but I'm miserable when I get home. She's a line cook, and I'm the dishwasher,so I'm in the back of the kitchen, but she has to go there sometimes to get something, and I want to assault her everytime.I know that's not an answer, but she makes me so darned mad!How can I work with people I don't like?
It's called being professional.
And there will ALWAYS be someone like that on every job you do.
It cannot be changed.
Remember that you're not on the job 24/7. Differentiate between job and work.
Keep your cool, maintain your professionalism, and you'll be rewarded someday when those hoity toity folks make the inevitable mistake and they come crashing down. How can I work with people I don't like?
challenge her to a duel!
Well there are three options.
1] Talk to her about it. See if that helps. It might not make you peachy but then she might at least watch how she acts around you.
2] Talk to your boss about it. He/She might be able to change her attitude a lot better and faster than you could.
3] Just completely pretend she doesn't exist. They will get the point sooner of latter when they say your name and you just keep doing whatever.
be patient, try to understand she may be having problems of her own. show her respect.
years ago slightly similar situation i just kept telling myself i was lucky to have a job it became my mantra ,before you swear at me that was while i looked for another job, also put this way at least she is not working next to you all day small mercy, and now i love my job obviously apart from what i just posted , so it can come right eventually all the best mouse :-)
JUST IGNORE HER AS BEST AS YOU CAN AND IF YOU CAN'T FIND A NEW JOBWHERE YOUR MOST COMFORTABLE WITH
There will most likely always be people you don't like at whatever job you choose. It's just a fact of life. Dealing with them is necessary, and dealing with them professionally is necessary to keeping your job. Don't dwell on her. The only one that is miserable is YOU. She doesn't go home at night and gnash her teeth and punch her pillows over you. Don't you do it over her. Don't allow her to have that power over you or that much presence in your life. She hasn't earned it. When you leave work, close the door on work and on her. If this doesn't work, try a new job. But chances are, there will be another ';her'; wherever you go.
If it is affecting you that bad look for alternative employment.
Get an iPod and plug it in your ears.
Bring the volume up, and hum to the music.
That way you won't hear her and you don't have to talk or look at her.
Have a happy day.
Smile :D
