I get awful tired of hearing how illegal aliens are doing work that Americans ';won't do.';
Can it be asserted that illegal aliens are doing work that LEGAL IMMIGRANTS won't do ?
I am sure that Mexico is not the only third-world country on this planet.
I am sure that Mexico is not the only third-world country on this planet that has economically desperate people who are willing to do the hardest and dirtiest work possible in order to come to a place that is not called AZTLAN, but is called the United States of America.
People from Mexico are some of the hardest working people I've ever had the privelege to work with, but they hardly have a monopoly on hard work.
The United States has been built by the blood, sweat, and tears of people from all over this planet including the ones who were already here in the first place!
I get real tired of Mexicans who promote the bogus idea that they are the only ones willing to do hard work. Are people from Mexico the hardest working people on the planet?
They aren't the only ones but you can't ignore the ';hungry'; factor. I mean this figuratively; Hungry for a better life, hungry to send money back to those suffering at home, hungry to achieve the American dream. Those of us that already have it slow down and get soft comparatively. Its not about legal or illegal, its about new arrivals and those that have been here for awhile. Parents risk death to come here by crossing the border so their children can play X-Box games and eventually become doctors and lawyers. As a parent myself, if the situation were reversed, I would too.Are people from Mexico the hardest working people on the planet?
Nope, Americans are, look at what we built in 200+ years.
no,some of the laziest..otherwise they would be industrious enough to follow the rules and laws and immigrate legally
Before welfare and government handouts, Americans worked hard too. A lot of Americans are hard working still, but at jobs that pay better and are not so physically demanding. Once the Mexicans learn how to do higher paying work, they don't prefer the physical work either.
I'm tired of people complaining about the illegals, saying that they ought to come to the US the legal way. The truth is that the US does not accept but a small handful of Mexicans for legal immigration. The system is not adequate for the demand, so they come in illegally.
As for other 3rd world countries that have hard working people willing to do hard work, of course there are. Every poor nation is filled with people willing to work like slaves for the wages they can get in the US. It is a matter of proximity that Mexico leads in migrating to the US. Furthermore, it is not only Mexicans that sneak in at the Mexican boarder, it is people from all over Central America. When they are deported, they have real trouble when they are dropped in Mexico.
Put yourself in their shoes (if you have any empathy at all). Just how far would you go to make a better life for your family, or for your self? I can't say I blame them.
Lastly, sneaking into the US is not a felony. We don't want it to be. That would overburden an already overcrowded prison system and drain taxes more than anything else, so there you see: it is not too big a risk to sneak in, and we can't up the penalty without facing HUGE financial drain on our taxes.
We are just in a crappy situation.
No, I'm Mexican and I don't think we are the best workers but what I do know is that the people that came the border illegally have the necessity to work hard to support their families. For those who claim that Mexicans live from governments money, let me tell you that used to work for a government agency and most of the people that were there getting help were not illegal people but US citizens. I'm not using this as en excuse I don't agree w/ illegal immigration but I know for a fact since I was working in government dep. that they are not even 1/4 of the people asking for help.
Yeah I here they train for a hole week to run across that border.
Americans work harder cause they pay for Mexicans as well as Americans.
No, they are not. Americans have always worked hard and that is why their country is so successful. In fact, once they started to become successful, I think Americans learned to work smarter rather than harder.
One thing I want to correct you on is that Mexico is NOT considered to be a Third World country. No, but Central America is full of third world countries, however, Mexico is considered a North American country and is not considered Third World. Apparently, Mexico is # 10 - 13 among the highest economic levels of countries in the world.
As well, I would consider that the illegal immigrants we get from Mexico are among the poorest of Mexico and the most uneducated and so yes, they are willing to work very hard for very little pay, compared to what we would expect for the same work, because that little pay is still far more than they could get as uneducated, illiterate people in Mexico.
If hard work was all it took to make a country as great as the USA, then I guess Mexico would be much better than it is. However, I think it is not just a matter of working hard as much as it is a matter of working SMARTER, that makes a country as great as the USA. No country in the world has yet figured this out, except the USA.
I laugh when I read the comments here from the illegal immigrants and their supporters about how ';You Americans wouldn't know what to do without us,'; or ';We're going to take over the USA and we're here to stay, so better get used to it,'; etc. It is laughable because if they were as good as what they think they are, their own countries would be better and they wouldn't have to be running FROM their countries to the USA to try to survive. If they can't manage their own country well, what in the world makes them think they could possibly manage the USA better than we do? With their third to fifth grade educations, they make these kinds of assertions? Come on!
If they really were to face reality, they are coming here and allowing themselves to be modern day slaves because the far below minimum wages that they are willing to accept makes them just that - token, modern day slaves. The wages that they are willing to accept are far below what an American citizen would accept because we have standards of living conditions that the illegals don't have. They will live in squalor and accept that as their lot in life, like modern day slaves.
Who cares how hard they work, they are still illegal and as such they are criminals.
