How do people work on an assembly line and stay sane?

I like to go on factory tours. After the tour I always have an observatin: Someone has to do this type of work but i am sure glad it is not me. The work floor is so loud and uncomfortable and it seems like people must be bored as hell.

How do people do this type of work for so long with our going crazy? How do people work on an assembly line and stay sane?
They don't the incidence of addictions are so much higher than the average population that GM and Chrysler both have top notch mental health insuranceHow do people work on an assembly line and stay sane?
There are people who like routine, others just suffer it.
don't forget most of these people choose there job and go to it every day. If they didn't choose it then they stay sane by using their will of survival.
We're all molded differently... Some people like the methodical tasks of running an assembly line, not having to actually think about what they're doing and just doing it.

Most of us are just doing what we need to do to provide for ourselves and our families--no matter what the job might be. I'd flip burgers again, if I had to...just to keep my family housed, fed and clothed.
Humans get used to things . To pain , to boredom , to noises , we adapt .
