I've been going steady and doing a diet with a bunch of exercise but nothing is working. People say I look skinny but that's a lie because I weigh 163 lbs. I'm 14 and I'm 5'4. I've tried alot of diets, too. They don't work. Then I tried something different: I stopped eating like an American and started eating like a European.
Europeans love food, probably more than Americans. And yet they're skinnier. Why? Because they actually PAY ATTENTION to the entertainment of food itself. They don't eat and watch TV, or eat and read a book. They don't mindlessly shovel food down their throats. They eat delicious food they love, they eat it slowly, they savor every bite, and when they feel slightly full, they stop.
So here's what you do:
1. When you're hungry, eat.
2. Eat what you love.
3. Eat consciously.
4. When you think you're full, stop.
That's all. Just those 4 rules. Sounds simple enough, right? Here's what each rule means:
1. When your body tells you to eat, it's telling you your blood sugar is low. If you go hungry too long, your metabolism slows down. Eating several small meals instead of 1 or 2 huge meals maintains a higher metabolism, so you burn more of what you eat. So never let yourself get famished; as soon as you feel hungry, eat.
2. You should always be excited and passionate about food. Throw out all the food you don't like. When I started this, I immediately threw out my lite mayonnaise, skim milk, and low-fat sour cream. Only eat food you are passionate about.
3. Overweight people tend to think about food all day, except when they're eating! Then they go into a face-stuffing trance. Instead, you should eat like a gourmet, paying attention to every bite. Chew at least 20 times per bite. Put the fork or food down between bites. Make the experience about chewing instead of about swallowing. Maybe close your eyes to better focus on the taste. Eat in slow motion. Do not eat while you watch TV, read, or talk on the phone. Let the food be your entertainment; if it's truly food you love, that should be enough.
4. Listen to your stomach. There's a magic moment when it feels satisfied. If you ask an American when it's time to stop eating, they'll say ';when my plate is empty.'; Ask a French person (they're thinner), they will tell you ';when the food is no longer interesting). If you so much as think you MIGHT be full, stop eating. Save the rest as leftovers. If you're hungry again in 20 minutes... eat again! The goal is to never be starving, and never be stuffed. Just bounce back and forth from hungry to full all day.
I've already noticed I eat half as much food using this method.

Also, if you eat like 500 calories a day only then your body will adjust to 500 calories a day and only burn that much.
Try eating a lot, but healthy food
Watch what you are eating. Try to cut back on junk foods and cut portion sizes also. Determination and patience are big factors. Weight loss comes slowly and steadily. Losing too much weight can be very dangerous. But the truth is, you are in a very important growth stage in your life, and losing weight can cause you to stop growing. Considering you are 5'4';, that's an okay height. Just exercise and don't expect things too quickly.
If you are exercising and doing a diet, but nothing is working, that means something is wrong. You should keep a journal and write down your thoughts and feelings and everything you eat. That way you can easily identify what you're doing wrong.

heres a plan that should work- jog 30-45 minutes then immediatley lift(low weights/high reps w/ no rest) then RUN for 20 minutes then cool down and walk try to do it in the morning to keep your metabolism racing throughout the day
